1. How many guests can attend the Graduation Ceremony and additional events?

  • Graduation Ceremony: Graduands can purchase up to three guest tickets at $40 each
  • Graduation Dinner: Graduands can purchase unlimited tickets to this event. Tickets are $129 per person and children (under 12 years old) are $35 for a full course sit down dinner, and entertainment

2. I have finished my course requirements, when can I get my parchment?

Upon completing your course, AIB would have emailed you with confirmation of your course completion and details of your award approval. If you register to attend the End-of-Year Graduation Ceremony, AIB will retain your parchment and transcript and you will receive these documents on stage at the Graduation Ceremony.


3. If I have already received my parchment and transcript, do I need to bring them to the Graduation Ceremony? 

If you wish to be presented with your parchment during the Graduation Ceremony then you will need to:

  • Return the parchment only to AIB office by registered post or by hand before the Graduation Ceremony. That is, by no later than 3:00pm on Thursday 6 December 2018.

Also, you should avoid framing your parchment until after the Graduation Ceremony.

If you wish to attend the Graduation Ceremony but do not wish to bring the parchment, then AIB will present you with a scroll (which has no personal information on it and is a blank version of our parchment).


4. When and where is the Graduation Ceremony?

The Graduation Ceremony is held in Adelaide, South Australia, and this year it falls on Friday 7 December 2018. Click here to visit the venue details with directions and a map.


5. Can I participate in the Graduation Ceremony before completing my MBA or BBA program?

Yes, if you are undertaking an MBA, you may be eligible to graduate with a GCM or GDM. Alternatively, if you are undertaking a BBA, you may be eligible to graduate with a Diploma or Associate Degree. Refer to the Eligibility Requirements for more information.

You will still be able to attend the Graduation Ceremony once you complete your full course i.e. MBA or BBA. You are only permitted to attend one graduation for each AIB qualification. Please note that students who have not yet satisfied the requirements of their course or whose qualification the Academic Board has not yet approved, may not attend the graduation.


6. Will I receive an invitation to attend the Graduation Ceremony?

If you have completed an MBA or BBA course, AIB will email you with links and steps to follow to register for the Graduation Ceremony. AIB will always invite eligible graduands to the closest available Graduation Ceremony.

If you have not yet completed your MBA or BBA, then you will need to review the Eligibility Requirements and you can email us accordingly to check whether you are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony.


7. Will I need to complete any forms in order to attend the Graduation Ceremony?

If you are eligible to graduate, AIB would email you a link to this website and also a password for the graduation registration page for you to register for the Graduation Ceremony.

To request for nested awards you will also need to complete the relevant Request for Parchment and Transcript Form and submit them to AIB by the Eligibility Cut-Off Date of Thursday 20 September 2018.

You also need to register online to attend the Graduation Ceremony no later than the Registration Deadline of Friday 9 November 2018.

If you are travelling to Australia from overseas please check whether you require a visa. This should be done as soon as possible because it may take some time for visas to be granted. Visit the website of the Australian Embassy in your country for more information.


8. Can I attend this Graduation ceremony even if I completed my course in an earlier year? 

You are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony which occurs immediately after you receive official confirmation that you have completed the MBA or BBA course.

If you do not attend the AIB graduation for that year and wish to attend an AIB graduation in a subsequent year, you may do so provided it is within a reasonable time from the date of issue of your parchment.

If you graduated with a nested award at a previous Graduation ceremony you will still be able to attend the Graduation Ceremony once you complete your full course i.e. MBA or BBA. You are only permitted to attend one graduation for each AIB qualification. Please note that students who have not yet satisfied the requirements of their course or whose qualification the Academic Board has not yet approved, may not attend the graduation.


9. What are my options if I cannot attend the Graduation Ceremony in December 2018?

You are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony which occurs immediately after you receive official confirmation that you have completed the MBA or BBA course.

If you are eligible but unable to attend the End-of-Year 2018 AIB graduation and wish to attend an AIB graduation in June 2019, you may do so. Should this be your case, please contact AIB at support@aib.edu.au and we will assist you.


10. What will it cost to attend the Graduation Ceremony?

If you are travelling to Adelaide for the Graduation Ceremony, then there may be associated travel and accommodation costs (and possibly costs associated with obtaining a visa if you are travelling from overseas).

In terms of the Graduation Ceremony itself, there is a fee of $150 for graduands to attend the Graduation Ceremony which includes gown hire, $40 for each guest to attend the Graduation Ceremony. Prices include GST for Australian graduands and guests. Other than that, there is no additional fee for attending the Graduation Ceremony and your parchment and transcript are provided at no cost.


11. Does AIB acknowledge receipt of my registration?

Yes, an email to acknowledge your successful registration will be sent to you immediately after you register using our graduation registration website. You will also receive a Graduation Briefing Handbook detailing all information you are required to know about the Ceremony and Events in November.


12. What photography options are available before and after the Graduation Ceremony?

There are three different types of photography options available to all graduands before and after the ceremony:

  • Online Web Gallery ($25)– This service includes a professional photography session with family and friends on graduation day. All images can be viewed almost instantly in a private online gallery from which you can order prints and downloads.
    Please note: $25 Web Gallery fee does not include prints or downloads but covers the cost of the photography session.
  • Premium Studio USB ($200)– This premium product is perfect for those graduands who want to take their images home on graduation day. After your professional photography session with family and friends, all high-resolution images are transferred onto a USB to be taken home on the spot.
  • Stage Photography Bundle ($45) – All graduands will be photographed as they cross the stage and receive their degree. The GFP Stage Photography Bundle includes both a digital copy of your stage photo, plus a print with a commemorative border. These photographs can be viewed and purchased immediately following the ceremony.

Please also be advised that AIB will capture all social and other ceremony images on the day and it will be uploaded on the Australian Institute of Business Facebook page. Make sure you follow the page to keep updated of when the photos are posted live!
