If additional guest tickets become available closer to the date, we will advise all graduands at that time.

Can’t attend the May Graduation Ceremony?

October graduation is a great alternative!

Based on feedback from students, we will be holding two graduations in 2020; given that you completed your studies early in the year, you have the choice to attend either ceremony.

Both ceremonies will be a wonderful celebration of your achievements, but to help you decide which ceremony you would like to attend, we have summarised the key differences below.

Please note that this will not count as your registration – we will be sending out an invitation closer to the date with registration details.

^ The May and October graduation ticket requirements are different. Here’s how.

On graduation day in May, we are holding one big event which will include the ceremony and a sit-down lunch. This is one event, with one ticket per person required to attend. The ticket pricing reflects this. The October graduation day will include two events: the graduation ceremony and the optional cocktail event which follows. If you’d like to attend both events, you’ll need a ticket for each.

Parchments

Generally, your parchment and transcript are automatically posted to your nominated address.  However, if you have successfully registered to attend the graduation ceremony prior to the scheduled posting of parchment and transcripts, we will automatically retain your documents.

If you would like to be presented with your parchment and transcript at graduation, please advise via email to have your documents retained or alternatively, if you have already received your documents, please return them to us (unframed) by 3:00pm on Thursday, 14 May.

Please either POST (via registered post) or HAND DELIVER your parchment to:  The Australian Institute of Business, 27 Currie Street, Adelaide SA 5000.

If we do not have your documents, you will be presented with a blank scroll on stage.

Graduand Name on Parchment

Your full legal name, as recorded in the AIB student management system, will appear on the parchment and official academic transcript. If you wish to change your name from what is recorded in the student management system, you will be required to provide a certified true copy of legal documentation by the cut-off date.

Travelling Graduates

If you would like a complimentary postit tube provided to you to transport your parchment home, please let us know by Wednesday, 13 May, via email, and we will have it available for you at graduation.

Gowning

It is compulsory for graduands participating in a graduation ceremony to wear the appropriate AIB academic regalia. The hire fee is $90.00 per graduand and is included in the graduand ticket price.

We ask that you please return your hire items straight after the ceremony to the designated area, apart from your mortar board which is yours to keep! Unfortunately, if they are not returned to us you will be invoiced the full replacement cost of the academic regalia.

Further information on how to order your academic regalia and the timing of gown fittings for the day of graduation will be provided closer to the date.

Overseas Graduands

If you are travelling to Australia from overseas, please check whether you require a visa.

If an invitation letter for a visa application (required for graduands travelling from overseas) is required, please provide passport information (full name as shown on passport, passport number and passport expiry date) for yourself and your guest(s) when registering by emailing graduation@aib.edu.au.

This should be done as soon as possible because it does take some time for visas to be granted and we would hate for you to miss out!

For further information, visit the website of the Australian Embassy in your country at the following link: www.dfat.gov.au/missions/.

Photography Services

We will have professional photographers there on the day taking photos throughout the event. We will also be taking photos of each graduand’s conferral of award on stage and these will then be available for purchase on the day.

Price:

The stage images will be available for purchase on the day for $45.00. The image provided will be a 6×8 inch bordered print, with the download included. Payment will be via cash or card on the day.

Photography clearance:

Please be advised that a professional photographer will be operating during the graduation ceremony. Photos will be posted and streamed on the Australian Institute of Business Facebook page, and the event will be live streamed on the AIB website. Please note that unless you notify us otherwise, by attending the graduation ceremony, you consent to the Australian Institute of Business using the photos taken at the event for marketing and PR purposes.
